Studio quality glamour lighting in your hotel room or home

For years I shot glamour in a studio, with painted canvas backdrops and big strobes. Now I bring that lighting to you. Here's what changes, what doesn't, and why it matters for your photos.

Light is the difference you can see

Put two photographers in the same hotel room with the same person and you'll get two completely different galleries. The difference is almost always light. Good light shapes the body, makes skin glow and gives a photo depth. Flat light makes even a great pose look like a phone snap.

What I bring

Battery powered strobes that don't need a power point, light modifiers to soften or sharpen the light, and stands that pack small enough to walk through any hotel lobby without anyone looking twice. Setting up takes about ten minutes.

Window light first, strobes second

In most rooms I start with whatever the window gives us. Soft, natural light is perfect for boudoir and for creator content that should feel real. Then I add a strobe where it helps: a little kick of light to lift the shadows, or a hard edge light for drama on darker sets.

Three looks you can only get with added light

  • Dramatic low key. A single light, deep shadows, skin glowing out of the dark. Great for premium paid content.
  • Glossy highlights. Oiled skin or wet hair catching a hard light. Impossible with daylight alone.
  • Evening without the gloom. City lights through the window behind you, with you perfectly lit in front of them.

The fine art look, on location

A lot of my older glamour work was shot against hand painted textured canvas backdrops. That look still works beautifully, especially for fine art and premium sets. If you want it, ask when you enquire and we'll plan the space for it.

Why this matters for your page

Your fans scroll past hundreds of images a day. Lighting is what makes yours stop the scroll, and it's the one thing a phone on a ring light can't copy.

Quick answers

Do you need a power point for your lights?

No. My strobes run on batteries, so we can shoot anywhere, including outdoors.

Will the flash be harsh?

Only when we want drama. Most of the time the flash is softened to blend with the window light.
